Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 12 May 2025

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern the relationship between Verge Atelier ("we", "us", "our") and any person ("you", "the owner") who contacts us through this website or brings a timepiece to our studio for service or restoration. By submitting an enquiry or leaving a watch in our care, you agree to these terms.

Our studio is located at 92 Thanon Ratchadamnoen, Mueang, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand. You may also reach us at [email protected] or by telephone at +66 86 305 7148.

2. Scope of our services

We offer three services for personal timepieces:

All work is carried out at our Chiang Mai studio. We do not offer postal watch submission at this time. Work outside the scope of these three services may be discussed on request, but no obligation to undertake such work is implied.

3. Estimates and agreements

Before any work begins, we will provide you with a written or verbal outline of the work proposed and the applicable price. For Bracelet & Case Care and Legacy Piece Restoration, a clear plan will be agreed with you before we proceed. We will not carry out work that falls outside what has been discussed without contacting you first.

If, once a watch is opened or examined more closely, the scope of work changes materially, we will pause and inform you. You may then confirm the revised scope, request that only the originally agreed work be done, or ask for the piece to be returned without any work being undertaken.

4. Pricing

Prices are stated in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of labour. Prices for the three services are as follows:

Where additional parts are required (for example a specific crystal, crown or strap component), these will be quoted separately and agreed with you before we order or fit them. Prices are reviewed periodically; the price confirmed at the time of agreement applies to your service.

5. Payment

Payment is due on collection of the watch. We accept cash in Thai Baht and bank transfer to a Thai account. We will provide a receipt for every payment received.

If a watch is not collected within 60 days of notification that work is complete, and we have been unable to reach you, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable storage fee. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before doing so.

6. Care, handling and liability

We take reasonable and considered care of every timepiece entrusted to us. Watches are handled in a clean, controlled workshop environment and stored securely when not being worked on.

Watch servicing and restoration involves the disassembly, cleaning and reassembly of delicate mechanical or electronic components. We will always discuss the condition of a piece before beginning, and we will not undertake work we do not consider to be in the watch's interest. However, very old, fragile or heavily worn components may behave unpredictably during the process, and we cannot accept responsibility for the failure of components that were already compromised or at the end of their usable life.

Our liability in the event of loss or damage caused by our own error is limited to the cost of the service work paid. We do not hold insurance for the market value of timepieces; if this is a concern, we encourage owners to arrange their own cover.

7. Ownership and authority

By bringing a watch to us, you confirm that you are the owner of the piece or have the owner's clear permission to authorise the service work. We will not accept a watch for service if we have reason to believe it may be stolen or that the person presenting it does not have authority to arrange its service.

8. Uncollected watches

We will hold a completed watch for a period of six months after notifying you that work is complete. If a watch remains uncollected after six months and all reasonable attempts to reach you have been unsuccessful, we may need to review the arrangement. We will always act in good faith and make every effort to reunite a watch with its owner.

9. Documentation and records

For Legacy Piece Restoration services, we keep photographs and written notes throughout the project. A copy of this documentation is provided to the owner on collection. We retain a studio copy of service records for three years in accordance with our Privacy Policy, after which records are reviewed for deletion.

10. Website use

The content on this website is provided for general information about our studio and services. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is free of error or that it will always be available. The website may be updated or amended at any time without notice.

You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce or republish any part of it without our written permission.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chiang Mai Province.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. The terms in place at the time you agree to a service apply to that service.
